Play paintball for fun and exercise
Winning the battle - Playing with the big boys
My friends and I play on every Sunday. It is a chance to get out and away from everything that has happened for the last week. It is a great way to also get your self some exercise.
Let me see what other things I can tell you. Here is something having the most expensive gun is nice, but it is not necessary. A couple of my friends have a fairly expensive gun but most of us use somewhat cheaper guns. I myself use a Rodeo spider; I enjoy it very much it gets the job done. You can be using the cheaper ones and make them just as good as the more expensive ones.
Here are a couple of links that have very useful info on paintballing.

Now I know what you are saying. Why would I want to go and get shot by something that hurts? Well you are not alone on that question, I myself thought the same things when I first started. Yes it does sting a little. But by the time that you go out to play the next round you are not even thinking about it. Your adrenalin is running so much all you can really think about is catching your breath.

Now there are a lot of health benefits out of it all. When I started playing I was weighing around 240 lbs. Now that is not good for just about anyone. It is a great way to burn some calories and it is something fun to get up off the couch and have some fun. I have lost close to 20 lbs since I started playing. I am trying to drop another 60 lbs. I feel like I have so much more energy to go and do things with my kids. It really feels good when you can spend time with your kids. No I don't let my kids play at this time. I don't think that they are old enough. But don't get me wrong when my son turns twelve he will be able to go and play. He already has asked me to go and play.

There are some really cool things about paintballing it is not funny. My favorite is woods ball. There are some many ways to play it. Some make castle at the top of a hill and you have to be able to take over the castle. Some make some really cool villages to play with, and some play capture the flag. Accuracy is the true key to playing paintball, woods ball style. Stealth is an issue in this version of the game.
It is really hard to stay in one place and not give away your position. The paintball players will do all they can to keep their locations unknown. Paintball guns are very loud when fired, and can possibly reveal a player's location. A lot of players will try to purchase accessories that will quiet their gun so that there is less of chance of giving away their position to opponents when they fire.
Woods ball players are more likely to shot less often, because it is harder to know where the other players are— and therefore these paintballers do not waste as much ammo. Of course, when you fire less often and your targets are more hidden, a player requires more patience and better aim than those who fire rapidly many different versions of woods ball have emerged: such as center flag, capture the flag, total elimination, protects the president, hopper ball, 21, civil war, and the list goes on and on. Woods ball players can literally invent their own game and custom design their own objectives
My friends and I have gone to a couple of different fields. You would really be surprised on how many teenagers were there to play. I would have to say the most of them were from the age of 18 to 23. I would have to say that most of us are around the age of 26 to 35. It really gives us a challenge to be able to play with the younger bunch. Some of us are not in the best of shape. But we get out there and play just about every Sunday. We all like to get together and have some fun. It gives us a chance to hangout and talk about the week. But I would have to say that the biggest reason that we play is to be able to get ourselves back in shape. I mean we are not looking to get our bodies into big muscles or anything like that we just want to be a little bit healthier.

I mean come on let's look at this a little bit. How many of us that are in that age range think man I wish I had half of the energy our kids have. But what do we do we work and come home and relax. But know there is something more we can do to be active with our kids. A good share of use to play sports of some kind in school then we get out of school and a lot of things change. So why not try something new. Check out the different things that you can do to go and try a game of paintball. I bet that you go out for the first time, and have such an adrenalin rush that you might say to yourself this was fun. So you go and play again a few times and you realize that this is a great way to get some exercise. Your heart is just racing, your running, jumping, diving and all kinds of things to make sure that you don't get hit. But that is not the only thing that can get the heart pumping from adrenalin.
Let's look at it this way. When you were a kid how many of you played Army or Cowboys and Indians. I know I did. Woods ball is just like that. If you have a big enough piece of land you could build yourself a town in the middle of the woods, have 30 friends come over and play.
Split off into two groups starting at each end and start to go after each other. Now you have to take your time because you don't want to give your spot away. So you sit and think to yourself can anyone hear you. You look left you look right then you turn to look back in front of you and smack you just got hit with a paintball. You never saw it coming. No they did not hear you, but they took the time to pick out there shot to make it count. One shot hits are the best way to go that way you can move on to your next target. Stealth is the name of the game.
Something that can help you out if you would like to help yourself build us some endurance while running for paintballing. Speed is pretty important but endurance is way better to have. So here is something that you can do. If you don't have a gym that you can go to then feel free to ask your local school if you can use their track to run on. If your are respectful of their rules and grounds I don't see where they would have too much of a problem. You want to start out small. Always remember to stretch every time before you start you work out, you don't want to have pulled muscles or anything like that it hurts too much. Then you are down for the time to heal and you lose out on time to be able to train your body. Start yourself with a genital walk around and slow start up jogging.
Do that for a week or so, doing it about three times a week. Then you will be able to get yourself ready to start out a more intense go at it. But try and run you a couple of laps every time that your go and run, jog half way around the track and on the other half pick up the pace until you get to the end of the other half.
Now I wanted to help you maybe find guns and equipment that you may be interested in. I myself like to use spider products. Spyder Info I have been very happy with my Syder Rodeo gun. It has been pretty accurate for me. But I am always looking to upgrade my gun. Sometimes when you want to upgrade you have to buy a newer gun. So what I would like to do is give you some links to check out some spyder guns.
Well we had a great chance to get out and play on Sunday November 2, 2008. We were glad that we had the chance to get out and have some fun again with the crew. We would love to be able to have more people come out and have a good time. Hopefully everyone could get a chance to make new friend and be able to chat with more people that have the same intrests.
We would like to have the chance to get a couple of people or teams to come and join us. We don't get the chance to play very often because we don't get enough people to join us. If you would like to play please feel free to e-mail me at Chris Simkus.
